1: AISI 4130 Steel Introduction
AISI 4130 steel is a Cr-Mo series alloy structural steel with low to medium carbon content. It's an American steel grade from ASTM A29. Known for its good strength, weldability, and toughness, AISI 4130 is widely used in aircraft tubing, automotive chassis, bicycle frames, pressure vessels, and machinery parts. ASTM 4130 is typically supplied in normalized, annealed, or quenched and tempered conditions, with hardness ranging from 18-22 HRC in annealed form and up to 28-32 HRC when heat-treated for higher strength.

In China, AISI 4130 is less commonly stocked than 42CrMo, but it is still available through specialized steel suppliers and mills. Hot-rolled 4130 bars and plates can be sourced, though inventory is usually limited due to lower domestic demand. For hot-forged 4130 bars, small stocks may exist, but custom sizes or forged blocks require production lead time with flexible MOQs.
If cost efficiency is a priority, 30CrMo4 or 42CrMo could serve as alternatives, as they are more readily available in China.
