1: AISI 1045 Steel Introduction
AISI 1045 steel is a medium-carbon steel grade from ASTM A20. With good strength, moderate hardenability, and excellent machinability, AISI 1045 is widely used in parts such as shafts, bolts, studs, gears, and connecting rods. SAE 1045 is typically supplied in a cold-drawn, normalized, or hot-rolled condition with a hardness range of 170-210 HB. Due to its lower alloy content compared to higher-grade steels, it offers cost-effectiveness while maintaining sufficient performance for general engineering applications.
