1: AISI 4145 Steel Introduction
AISI 4145 steel is a Cr-Mo series alloy structural steel with medium-high carbon content. It's an American steel grade from ASTM A29. AISI 4145 is widely used in heavy-duty mechanical components that require superior strength, such as large shafts, drill collars, oilfield equipment, and high-stress fasteners.
AISI 4145 contains a higher carbon content (0.46-0.54%) compared to 4140 steel, giving it enhanced mechanical properties. It's generally supplied in quenched and tempered condition with hardness typically ranging from 28-34 HRC.
