1: AISI 1141 Steel Introduction
AISI 1141 steel is a medium carbon, manganese-sulphur alloy steel. It is an American steel grade from ASTM A29. Known for its good machinability, high strength, and wear resistance, AISI 1141 is widely used in the manufacturing of various components that require extensive machining, such as shafts, gears, bolts, and studs. For 1141 cold-drawn precision bars, a material commonly used in automated machining, spot availability is relatively good. Since suppliers can readily cold-draw from stock billets to meet customers' specific dimensional requirements, minimum order quantities are typically low, and even small batch orders are often acceptable. However, for hot-rolled special specifications, small-batch custom production may be required.
