Product Description
ASTM A20 AISI 1050 Carbon Steel Bar
1: AISI 1050 Steel Introduction
AISI 1050 steel is a medium-carbon steel grade from the ASTM A20 standard. As a carbon steel, it offers high strength, good toughness, and moderate wear resistance, it is commonly used in manufacturing mechanical components such as shafts, gears, bolts, springs, and agricultural machinery parts. SAE 1050 is typically supplied in a cold-drawn or annealed condition, with a hardness range of 18-22 HRC in the normalized state. It can be further heat-treated to achieve higher hardness (up to 50-55 HRC) for improved wear resistance.

6: Goods available in China
In China, 1050 steel typically requires production orders for most specifications, with hot-rolled round bars and plates having 3-4 week lead times. Cold-drawn bars are available in limited standard sizes with 3-5 week lead times for special diameters, while forged components are exclusively made-to-order. The domestic market strongly prefers 45# and 55# steels for better cost-performance ratios, making 1050 relatively uncommon in spot inventories.
