Product Description
DIN 17200 50CrV4/1.8159 Quenching and Tempering Steel
1: 50CrV4 Steel Introduction
50CrV4 is a high-quality chromium-vanadium alloy spring steel known for its excellent strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance. As a medium-carbon steel, it offers superior hardenability, good ductility, and minimal deformation after heat treatment.
Commonly supplied in a quenched and tempered condition, 50CrV4 is widely used in critical mechanical components such as high-stress springs, torsion bars, clutch discs, and other load-bearing parts requiring high durability and resilience. Its balanced composition ensures reliable performance in demanding applications. Typical hardness ranges between 40-45 HRC after heat treatment, making it ideal for automotive, aerospace, and industrial uses where fatigue resistance and dynamic stress resistance are essential.

6: Goods available in China
The availability of 50CrV4 in China is characterized by limited spot stock for standard forms like hot-rolled bars and plates, typically requiring mill ordering for larger quantities; however, for hot-forged 50CrV4 materials, while standard forged bars may occasionally be found, specific blocks or custom forged parts are made-to-order, often as little as one piece, due to the relative ease of sourcing the raw material for processing.
