1: AISI 1015 Steel Introduction
AISI 1015 steel is a low-carbon mild steel from the ASTM A29 standard, known for its excellent weldability, formability, and machinability. As part of the 10XX series, it contains minimal carbon content, making it softer and more ductile than medium or high-carbon steels.
Due to its balanced properties, AISI 1015 is widely used in applications requiring good cold-forming characteristics, such as bolts, screws, shafts, and structural components. It is typically supplied in a cold-rolled or hot-rolled condition with moderate strength and hardness (typically ≤ 120 HB).

AISI 1015 (GB 15#) steel is readily available in China as hot-rolled bars, cold-rolled sheets, and wire rods, though stock quantities are typically limited since Q235 is more commonly used domestically due to its lower cost. While substituting Q235 can reduce costs if the application permits.
