1: DIN 1.3343 Steel Introduction
1.3343 high-speed steel is a high-carbon high-vanadium series of high-speed tool steel. It is a grade defined by the German standard DIN 17350. With high hardness, high wear resistance, good red hardness and sufficient toughness, 1.3343 steel is widely used in the manufacture of various cutting tools, such as drill bits, milling cutters, taps, hobs, and wear-resistant parts. This material is generally supplied in a quenched and tempered condition, with a typical hardness reaching 64-66 HRC.
