Product Description
ASTM A20 AISI 1055 Carbon Steel Bar
1: AISI 1055 Steel Introduction
AISI 1055 steel is a medium to high carbon grade of plain carbon steel. It is an American steel grade from ASTM A29. With good strength, toughness, and wear resistance, AISI 1055 is commonly used in applications requiring higher durability than low carbon steels, such as heavy-duty shafts, gears, connecting rods, and high-strength structural components. SAE 1055 is often supplied in a heat-treated condition, such as normalized or quenched and tempered, to achieve desired mechanical properties.

6: Goods available in China
If you want to purchase 1055 steel from China, whether it is 1055 hot-rolled round bar or hot-rolled plate, you can generally find stock in the Chinese market, but the inventory quantity is usually not very large. This is because domestically produced medium carbon steel is more commonly supplied as grades such as 1045 or 1060, which have broader applications. If your requirements are not extremely strict regarding carbon content, you can consider these alternative grades, which may offer better availability and cost advantages.
